WrestleMania 27 Card
I wrote this a few months ago so some of the wrestlers are gone, but I just wante dto show you guys some of my work. Enjoy!
This is a mixture of what I would like to see, and what is also realistic. So there won't be The Rock vs Shawn Michaels, or Chris Benoit vs Bryan Danielson. Anyway I love doing these things. Just gives me a chance to express myself, and I love thinking how great it would be if these matches take place. I like thinking how the feuds would play out, how long the match would go, what type of match it would be. That is what makes wrestling so great. For example in the MLB, you have two divisions. The American League and the National League. Say you're a Yankee fan (WOO) and you want to see them play the Dodgers. If the MLB doesn't put a Yankees vs Dodgers series on the schedule, then the only way the teams will face is if they both make it to the World Series. And see that is different in wrestling. Yes there is RAW and SmackDown, but if the fans truly want to see it, it will happen. Instead of me rambling on for another few sentences, without further a do, here is my Realistic WrestleMania 27 Card.
1. Daniel Bryan vs Chris JerichoSimply put, this would be an awesome match. Two of the best wrestlers in the world right now. This is a legit 5-star match candidate. The feud would play out like Jericho thinking Daniel wants to be just like him. That he can't make his own path, and that he has to follow others. It would lead to a match at WrestleMania. I would give them 16-20 minutes as well with a lot of near falls and a lot of submission maneuvers. A lot of counters into finishing moves. You know, things like that. If this match would truly happen I would love it, but I don't think the WWE will give Bryan that far of a push to say "You're facing Jericho at Mania". Although I think Jericho would be fully open to it since he believes in pushing the younger guys. As for who wins, like most wrestlers Daniel Bryan could use a win but I don't think it would be imperative at this stage. As long as it is a good match that puts Daniel over for the most part, I would be happy with it.Winner: Chris Jericho
2. Money In the BankShelton Benjamin vs Kofi Kingston vs Dolph Ziggler vs Ted DiBiase vs David Otunga vs R-Truth vs Ezekiel Jackson vs KaneBenjamin and Kofi can do some cray athletic stuff. Ziggler and Truth can do some good moves as well. Zeke and Kane do the power spots. DiBiase and Otunga, I don't want to say they are just kinda there, but they will play the cowardly heels. Give them about 17 minutes. Nothing to long so the pace of the match is fast. I want to see Ziggler take a huge bump. Shelton do his normal stuff. I want to see Zeke Jackson Powerbomb Otunga through tables off the ladder. (Wouldn't that be sick?) For the winner, I would have DiBiase or Kofi win. I'll go with Kofi just because I like him better. Winner: Kofi Kingston
3. Edge vs ChristianWhat everyone has been waiting for. Have Christian screw Edge, or Edge screw Christian at the Royal Rumble to set up the feud. I would make the feud very emotional. Show how they grew up together, how great of a tag team they were. Basically Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy type. As for the match, 12-15 minutes. This can be a really good match on the undercard, and one of the best matches of the night. I rather this match not be a championship match. Just have the match out of pure hate and jealousy of each other. I would give the win to Christian just because he would need it more. It really wouldn't matter who got the win though.Winner: Christian
4. Melina vs Beth Phoenix vs Mickie JamesThree best Women's wrestlers in the WWE right now. Not really too much to say about this one. Melina can wrestle, Mickie James-Canton (There ya go John) can wrestle, and Beth can wrestle as well. Give the girls 8-12 minutes. Just give them time, they can have a *** star match. Maybe not most, but these three girls can without a doubt in my mind.Winner: Beth Phoenix
5. WWE Tag Team Championship Match(Straight-Edge Society) Luke Gallows and Mike Knox (C) vs Evan Bourne and Justin Gabriel vs (Hart Dynasty) Tyson Kidd and David Hart SmithFirst off, I would have Mike Knox join the Straight-Edge Society. He has the long hair, and the beard which has been shaven in years. It could really play into a good storyline. As for the match, Mike Knox is a good wrestler for his size, 6'6 290. Along with Luke Gallows who is also a good big man wrestler at 6'8 280. I put them against Evan Bourne and Justin Gabriel. I stuck these two together because they are so similar. Both aerial wrestlers who can really be an exciting tag team. Next I would have the Hart Dynasty as another face team. Kidd is a very good wrestler, and Him and Smith have good chemistry. Have these teams feud with each other for 2-3 months. Maybe have the Hart Dynasty lose the titles to Bourne and Gabriel at the Royal Rumble. Then have Bourne and Gabriel lose them to the Straight Edge Society at Elimination Chamber. Have Bourne and Gabriel argue with the Hart Dynasty on who should face them at WrestleMania. Eventually the GM (Whoever that is) puts all three teams in a Tables...Ladders...and Chairs "Oh My" Match! Give them 14-17 minutes. Have the Hart Dynasty win. Winners: Hart Dynasty
6. Intercontinental Championship: Drew McIntyre (C) vs Rey MysterioIt is quite obvious that the WWE likes Drew McIntyre a lot. I remember seeing him when he originally on Smackdown with Dave Taylor in 2007. He didn't really impress anyone so they sent him back down to FCW. Still hasn't impressed me greatly, but he is doing a little better. I'm thinking his titantron and theme song are helping him. I agree with John, BEST in the WWE without any doubt. He is still only 24 so he will still have time to improve. I pitted him against Rey because Rey can carry a good match with just about anyone. Give these guys 9-12 minutes, and I'll give Rey the win. Drew will have a lot of time to grow as he will only be 25 so a loss won't hurt him here tremendously. Weird thinking in 6 years he will only be 30, and will still be considered young. It is all about "potential" for this kid.Winner: Drew McIntyre
7. WWE Championship: Jack Swagger (C) vs John MorrisonI think this a direction they want to go in as far as future stars in the company. Both these guys are good wrestlers, and both are young. I personally think Swagger is going to vastly improve over the next few months. I think he could work a lot better as a face though. He just doesn't have the look of a heel. He does do a decent job of playing a heel though. While on the other hand John Morrison is a better heel, then he is a face. He isn't bad as a face though, but just his gimmick overall would make you think he is a heel. Anyway, we just saw this match on Smackdown and it was a decent 10 minute match. Around a **1/2 star match which is good for a TV match. Swagger is still a bit raw, and he should be. Only credible guys he has faced are Christian and he did have some *** matches with him. He also had a decent match with HHH on RAW a few months ago (You know, where he didn't actually get squashed in 2 minutes). And he just faced Orton and it was another good TV match. I think a match with Jericho and Edge will be good for him because he won't have to carry the match, but at the same time he can have his spots. John Morrison's push should have been here by now, but he is still only 30 or 31. Just like a lot of people say, he reminds me of a young Shawn Michaels. Which just goes to show you the potential he has. I would give these guys 14-18 minutes. Probably giving the nod to Jack Swagger. I could see it go either way go, just depends on who needs the win more.Winner: Jack Swagger
8. HHH vs The Miz There is a talk of HHH turning heel, which I would love by the way, but for now he is going to be the face in this feud. The Miz is very good at getting heat right now. One of the to heels in the company, behind CM Punk and Chris Jericho. He has charisma, he can speak on the mic, and he is improving in the ring vastly. Hell, he even has his own catch phrase. I always liked him on the mic, but when he cut the promo on Bret hart, I was sold on the guy becoming a major part of the company. He cut it so elegantly, and he cut it like he meant what he was saying. That is what separates certain guys. CM Punk truly believes what he is saying. I think that is the same with The Miz, on a certain level of course. He also has a true love of wrestling, and you can tell. Since I'm the booker, I'm making sure I have this be a fierce feud. Have some matches leading up to it. Then at WrestleMania, have this be "Hell In a Cell". Basically, I would just have HHH beat the bloody hell out of him. That would be HHH's main point of the match, make The Miz a bloodied man. Because there comes a point where how much do you want to be the top guy? How much do you want to be the man? He needs to go through hell to see how much he truly wants it. Have The Miz in win of course because HHH losing would really mean something. At this stage of his career, HHH doesn't need wins at every pay-per-view. Seeing The Mix beat HHH in Hell in a Cell would really give The Miz that extra push. Give them 16-20 minutes.Winner: The Miz
9. World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (C) vs Randy OrtonBiggest Heel vs Biggest Face (Far as pop wise). These two guys are the two wrestlers that remind us of Attitude Era characters...well at least for me. Like most, I love CM Punk's character. He plays it so well, and he can get so much heat it is incredible. I'm a firm believer that Randy Orton's face turn was by complete accident. Wasn't the creative teams idea, it was the crowds. The feud would be very good, and the match could be just as good. The crowd for this match would hopefully be crazy which would only make it better. I don't know who wouldn't want to see this feud. I know a lot of people find Orton boring, but I think the face turn is for the better. He kinda, sort of, in a away reminds me of Steve Austin. Would seem like a heel character, but the crowd loves him. Steve Austin was a good technical wrestler back when he was Stunning Steve in Texas, but once he got to the WWE he was more of a brawler. He could do so much with a match with no rules, and I think the WWE should push Orton that way. Both have that quick finisher. The RKO has been looking very Stunner-esque the past few months. I would give the win to Orton to push him to super stardom. Give these guys a solid 20-25 minutes. I would also have it be a No-DQ match to give it a little more edge. Winner: Randy Orton
10. The Undertaker vs John Cena This match is bound to happen. The face of WWE: John Cena vs The Deadman: The Undertaker. 18-0 will be on the line, and it will be a huge match-up. This is where I could see the streak ending. Give it to a guy who is young, and the Face of your Company. I understand why people thought that HBK would win, but honestly, going into the match I knew HBK would lose. If there is one guy in the world who deserves to beat The Undertaker who would it be? HBK. But if the WWE were to end the streak, they would give it to someone who was young and was going to be the face for years. Like The Rock or Brock Lesnar because if those guys would have stayed I think they would of had a great shot. at ending it. John is only going to be 33 at next years WrestleMania, right smack in the apex of his career. And if the WWE wants to make him the greatest entertainer of all-time, I think beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania would push him over the top. Also, if Randy Orton is still getting the huge pops next year maybe you make John turn heel here. Have him talk about having the honor of facing Undertaker at WrestleMania, and how he wants this to be a fair fight. But then have him cheat to win. Would that not get him huge heat? Still, I'm giving the win to the Undertaker. The guy has earned it, and only if he chooses should he lose that precious streak. Give it 18-24 minutes. That may even be too long, but I think the atmosphere would be great.Winner: The Undertaker
I left Batista, Sheamus, and Big Show off the list. Batista, maybe he'll be injured *Fingers crossed*. Actually I shouldn't say that...but I'm serious about the possibility of the injury. Sheamus, I like him. He is getting better, but I couldn't find a spot for him. Maybe it is the fact I can't take a ginger seriously. Couldn't find a spot for Big Show. Either can the WWE, as he has been fooling around in the Tag Division for about 8 months. Before he teamed with Jericho, he was somewhat feuding with Evan Bourne...key word "kinda". Seriously though, I just couldn't really find a spot for these guys because I didn't want to go over 10 matches.
Getting back to my card, that is about 160 minutes of wrestling. Which rounds out to be about 2 hours, and 40 minutes of wrestling, which only leaves about 1 hour for promos and videos. Oh well, this is "WRESTLE"Mania, not "PROMO"Mania.
